I attended the hustings of the Police Federation at Parliament today. The event gave a chance for the major parties to present their policies on policing and law and order. After the event I spoke to a number of policemen and their concerns about how the police force is being affected by government cutbacks, and the inefficiency of having 43 different local police forces with different IT systems. This was an inspiring event where I learned a lot about what could improve life and working conditions for our police officers.
